Launching October 2026

A national awareness campaign · Seven Emirates

UAE Airports Turn Pink

Millions of people move through the airports of the Emirates every month. For the month of October, PinkRibbon United Arab Emirates wants every one of those terminals to carry one message in Arabic and English: found early, breast cancer is most often survivable. Awareness desks, ribbons and clear guidance on where to get checked — placed exactly where the country already gathers.

Why airports

Awareness where the country already meets.

More than one in three invasive cancers diagnosed in women in the UAE is breast cancer. An airport terminal reaches residents, visitors, crew and staff of every background and language in a single day — the widest public room in the country, open around the clock.

Terminals lit and dressed in pink

Arrivals halls, check-in islands and travel bridges carry the pink ribbon through October, so awareness meets people where they already are.

Awareness desks in the concourse

Volunteer teams hand out ribbons and short, plain-language guidance on breast self-awareness and when to seek a check.

Bilingual information, Arabic and English

Every leaflet, screen and conversation runs in both languages, matching the communities and the travellers who pass through.

A clear next step

Each visitor leaves knowing where to go for a screening appointment in their own Emirate, not just that screening matters.

How it works

Three steps to a pink terminal.

  1. 01

    An airport joins

The airport operator agrees to host the campaign: space in the terminal, screen time, and permission for volunteer teams during October.

  2. 02

    We bring the campaign kit

Ribbons, bilingual leaflets, banners, screen artwork, volunteer briefing and a referral list of screening services in that Emirate.

  3. 03

    Travellers take it home

Passengers, crew and airport staff leave with the message and a place to go. The airport reports reach, and we publish it.

The airports

Seven Emirates, one ribbon.

These are the airports the campaign is being built with and around. Airports listed for phase two have been invited; nothing on this page states an agreement that is not yet signed.
